KELC Venue Closure 31 Jan 2024

Scheduled maintenance works are due to be completed early. 

Keilor East Leisure Centre will reopen from 5:00pm today (Wed 31 Jan).

All facilities will reopen as usual, however there will be NO GOswim lessons or group fitness classes as previously advised.

Dear Keilor East Leisure Centre Members,

We hope this message finds you well. We would like to inform you of an upcoming full facility closure scheduled for Wednesday, 31 January 2024, due to necessary maintenance works.

The closure is essential to address ground movement at our site, which has resulted in damage to the underground pipework, particularly impacting the sewer system. To ensure the safety and efficiency of our facilities, we must undertake repairs promptly.

The maintenance works will result in an interruption to the water supply for toilets and showers. In order to conduct the repairs efficiently and minimise any inconvenience, we will temporarily close the facility on this day.

No GOswim lessons

For those enrolled into swimming lessons, please be advised that GOswim lessons on Wednesday 31 January, 2024 will no go ahead.

For those affected, we will apply a credit to your account for the missed lesson. The payment that was processed today (Thursday 25 January, 2024) will go towrards your next lesson on Wednesday 7 February. There will be no direct debit next Thursday 1 February, 2024.

No Group Fitness classes

All scheduled group fitness classes at KELC will also be cancelled on Wednesday 31 January, 2024. We encourage our group fitness attendees to visit Ascot Vale Leisure Centre.

Don’t forget, as a member you can use your membership at Ascot Vale Leisure Centre and Queens Park Swimming Pool. For those still looking to complete a group fitness class, Ascot Vale classes are available to book into you can view the AVLC timetable here.

For those attending Childcare on this day, you are welcome to book into a session at AVLC.

How to book into classes and childcare at AVLC

In ActiveWorld click the three bars on the top left hand side. Click ‘My profile’, change your centre to Ascot Vale Leisure Centre and save. Don’t forget to change this back to Keilor East Leisure Centre afterwards to book your usual classes for other days.
