MOVE Moonee Valley venues continue to set safety standards

The MOVE Moonee Valley venues have hit the safety jackpot thanks to a commitment to excellence in safety and compliance, with all three venues – Keilor East Leisure Centre (KELC), Ascot Vale Leisure Centre (AVLC) and Queens Park Swimming Pool (QPSP) – all receiving Life Saving Victoria’s (LSV) gold endorsements.

AVLC has achieved perfect safety and compliance scores, achieving scores of an incredible 100% in both categories and maintaining its Life Saving Victoria Platinum Pool accreditation.

These scores, practically unheard of, set a new benchmark for excellence in pool safety and management in Australia.

Amy Cross, MOVE Moonee Valley Area Manager, thanked her dedicated team saying, “Credit goes to Peter Sleight, AVLC Operations Manager, who led from the front to ensure that AVLC was leading the way to industry best practices in line with the Guidelines for Safe Pool Operations. To defy the odds and achieve 100% compliance and safety is a huge feat and we are very proud of the result.”

Equally noteworthy, at the end of this summer season, QPSP received a 100% compliance score and a 95.24% safety score. Last year, KELC received a 100% compliance score and a 96.6% safety score, with their next audit approaching soon.

These remarkable achievements would not have been possible without the collective efforts of the teams at these venues, whose dedication and professionalism have been instrumental in achieving these outstanding results.

“We also extend our gratitude to Moonee Valley City Council for their support, ensuring these venues remain at the forefront of safety and excellence,” Amy said.
