Meet Hoppo – Float to Survive
GOswim Australia are excited to partner with Float to Survive Australia and Bondi Rescue’s Head Lifeguard, Bruce ‘Hoppo’ Hopkins, where together, we’re focusing on strengthening the critical life-saving skill of floating for swimmers of all ages.
As part of Float to Survive, we invite the Moonee Valley community to join us at Ascot Vale Leisure Centre on Thursday 4 December between 3:30pm – 6:00pm for a chance to meet Hoppo and join us for an afternoon of fun water safety activities, including:
| 3:30pm – 6:00pm | FREE Swim Entry (Doesn’t include Steam Room / Sauna / Spa access) |
| 3:30pm – 6:00pm | Water Safety Activity Station |
| 3:30pm – 4:15pm | FREE Warm Water Aqua Class (including 5 steps to float with Hoppo) *Bookings required via the Active World App |
| 3:45pm – 4:00pm | 15min story time with Hoppo (Water Safety Book) |
| 4:00pm – 5:00pm | Learn CPR with Ambulance Victoria |
| 4:00pm – 4:30pm | Hoppo visiting GOswim classes in Learn to Swim Pool and 25m Pool |
| 4:30pm – 5:00pm | Question and answer time with Hoppo (including photo and signature opportunity) |
| 5:00pm – 5:15pm | Light refreshments and finger food |
Plus, to help with access to our GOswim Swimming and Water Safety program, we invite any non-members to join us for a 15minute GOswim in-water assessment.
During this assessment, one of our GOswim Teachers will go through our level criteria to place you/your child in the appropriate level. If you choose to sign up to our GOswim lesson on Thursday 4 December, you will also receive FREE goggles to begin your swimming journey*!
