KELC Platinum Pool accreditation milestone

Keilor East Leisure Centre (KELC) has achieved a major milestone, securing Life Saving Victoria’s (LSV) prestigious Platinum Pool accreditation. KELC achieved a perfect score of 100% for compliance and an impressive 99.63% for safety, cementing its position as a leader in aquatic safety.

This accreditation is only awarded to venues that meet the highest standards in aquatic safety and risk management, highlighting KELC’s commitment to providing a safe and secure environment for its members and guests.

Last Thursday, 22nd August, representatives from LSV visited the team at KELC to present the Platinum Pool certificate, marking the venue’s entry into an elite group of venues recognised for their exceptional safety practices.

LSV Manager – Aquatic Industry Services, Alek Olszewski, praised the achievement, saying, “Keilor East Leisure Centre has met our stringent safety and operational criteria and we are proud to welcome them into the Platinum Pool Program. Their dedication to safety ensures a secure and enjoyable experience for all visitors.”

To qualify, KELC completed an annual Pool Safety Assessment with Gold endorsement and is a SwimSafe member and member of the ‘Watch Around Water’ child supervision program. As part of the Platinum Pool Program, KELC will also participate in Mystery Guest visits.

Lauren, Operations Manager at KELC, expressed immense pride in the team’s achievement, stating, “Achieving Platinum Pool accreditation is a reflection of our entire team’s dedication to safety and compliance.

“It’s a huge privilege to be part of a team that prioritises the wellbeing of our community and upholds the highest standards in the industry. We would also like to thank LSV and our Council partners Moonee Valley City Council for their ongoing support in achieving this recognition,” Lauren concluded.

Congratulations to the entire KELC and MOVE team on achieving this prestigious recognition.
