Remedial Massage

Remedial massage is a targeted form of massage therapy designed to assess and treat muscles, tendons, and other soft tissues. Treatment is tailored to your individual needs and may focus on areas of pain, tension, restricted movement, or muscular imbalance. By addressing underlying musculoskeletal concerns, remedial massage can help support improved comfort, mobility, and overall wellbeing.

Remedial massage may assist with muscular tension, stiffness, restricted movement, general aches and pains, postural discomfort, and recovery from physical activity. Your therapist will discuss your symptoms and goals before treatment to ensure the session is tailored to your individual needs.

Remedial Massage FAQs

You do not need a GP referral to book a remedial massage. If you have an injury, medical condition or symptoms that may require medical assessment, your therapist may recommend speaking with your GP or another appropriate health professional.

Depending on your insurer and level of extras cover, you may be eligible to claim remedial massage services through your private health insurance. Please check directly with your health fund to confirm your eligibility, limits and any other requirements.

Your therapist will ask about your health history, current symptoms and what you would like help with. They may assess movement or the affected area before discussing an appropriate treatment approach with you.

Wear comfortable clothing to your appointment. Depending on the area being treated, your therapist may ask you to remove some clothing. Appropriate draping will be used at all times, and your privacy and comfort will be respected.

There is no single schedule that suits everyone. Your therapist can discuss whether further treatment may be useful based on your symptoms, response to treatment and goals. You are not required to commit to an ongoing treatment plan.

Massage may be appropriate during pregnancy, but treatment needs to take your individual circumstances and stage of pregnancy into account. Please let us know that you are pregnant when booking and tell your therapist about any pregnancy-related complications or medical advice you have received.
