Celebrating our 2026 ARV Industry Award Nominations

We are proud to celebrate an outstanding group of team members and facilities who have been recognised as finalists in the 2026 Aquatics & Recreation Victoria (ARV) Industry Awards.

These nominations highlight the dedication, passion and professionalism demonstrated across our organisation, reflecting the positive impact our teams continue to make within the Moonee Valley community.

Customer Service Award – Julia (AVLC)
Julia has been nominated for the Customer Service Award, recognised for her professionalism, empathy and ability to connect with every member who walks through the doors. She consistently delivers exceptional service, ensuring every interaction is positive and respectful.

Julia is known for going above and beyond to support members, proactively resolving issues and helping retain members through tailored solutions. As a valued team member, she leads by example, supports her colleagues and approaches every situation with calmness and care.

Swim Teacher Award – Dawud (AVLC)
Dawud has been nominated for the Swim Teacher Award, recognising his passion, dedication and extensive experience within the aquatics industry.

With over 20 years of experience, Dawud created a safe, inclusive and supportive environment where every student can build confidence in the water. His engaging and structured teaching style, combined with strong connections with students and families, has resulted in outstanding progression outcomes. He is also a valued mentor, contributing to the growth and development of his colleagues.

ARV/BON Leisure Scholarship Award – Layla (AVLC)
Layla has been nominated for the ARV/BON Leisure Scholarship Award, recognising her strong leadership, career progression and ongoing commitment to the industry.

Layla has rapidly advanced into a senior leadership role, gaining experience across aquatic operations, customer service, swim school leadership, marketing and venue management. She is highly regarded for her collaborative approach, dedication to continuous improvement and commitment to achieving positive community outcomes.

Duty Manager Award – Alessandra (KELC)
Alessandra has been nominated for the Duty Manager Award, highlighting her outstanding leadership and operational expertise.

Since stepping into the role, Alessandra has consistently demonstrated professionalism in a fast-paced environment. Her calm and approachable nature, combined with her ability to manage complex situations, ensures a safe and welcoming experience for members and staff. She is also a trusted mentor, supporting team development across multiple areas.

Most Valuable Employee Award – Mylene (KELC)
Mylene has been nominated for the Most Valuable Employee Award, recognising her exceptional leadership and impact across aquatic services.

Mylene has played a key role in driving program growth while fostering a culture of safety, care and high performance. She is widely respected for her ability to develop her team, strengthen capability and deliver continuous improvement initiatives. Her dedication to both staff and community outcomes makes her an incredibly deserving nominee.

Facility Management Award (Seasonal) – Queens Park Swimming Pool
Queens Park Swimming Pool has been nominated for the Facility Management Award – Seasonal, reflecting its continued delivery of a high-quality and engaging community facility.

Supported by a passionate and dedicated team, QPSP provides a diverse range of programs, events and activations that cater to all ages and abilities. The team’s commitment to customer experience, safety, innovation and continuous improvement ensures the facility remains a well-loved destination within the community.
