Reintroducing Cérge

With millions of Australians currently living with a disability, it’s important to be able to provide them with access and information to assist them with having a welcoming, supportive and inclusive experience when visiting MOVE Moonee Valley.

We’re able to provide this with the assistance of the Cérge platform.

“A lack of publicly available accessible information and inadvertent discriminatory customer service are the two biggest yet easily solved social barriers to community participation, sport & leisure and accessible tourism for up to 1 in 5 people” – Cérge website.

Story of Inclusion – from Cérge website:

Today I visited Keilor East Leisure Centre and with the help of my new friend Cérge and a very friendly Staff Member named Jasmine had a small tour of the Centre to familiarise myself with the facilities and I was very excited to see all the great things Keilor East Leisure Centre have on offer.

Because of my anxiety going to new places and to the pool is something that I normally dread doing but thanks to Cérge, The Cérge Community and Friendly non judgmental Staff at Keilor East Leisure Centre I feel comfortable and invited and have the confidence I need.

Visiting new places is a breeze – I check in via the Cérge App, letting them know the assistance I require and someone is there to help me when I walk in the door, It couldn’t be easier

The Cérge Companion Website provides publicly available information detailing accessible and sensory experience imagery and descriptions, empowering customers with disability, parents, carers and support workers to make an informed decision before arrival.

The Cérge Companion App is a free assistive technology for individuals with disability, support workers, carers and parents to notify a participating destination / venue of specific service preferences ahead of time and remove the fears and anxiety of how you or your loved ones will be treated. In turn, this empowers customer service staff with complete confidence and knowledge to ensure an inclusive experience.

Cérge is available at Ascot Vale Leisure Centre and Keilor East Leisure Centre. You can find out more about the service and download the app (Google Play / iOS) here;
