Ascot Vale Leisure Centre wins gold for safety two years in a row

Ascot Vale Leisure Centre has secured the top position in Victoria for the second year in a row, receiving a remarkable average aquatic safety and compliance score of 99.86% following successful Aquatic Facility Safety Assessments (AFSA).

This reinforces Ascot Vale Leisure Centre as an industry leader in aquatic safety, achieving outstanding results far surpassing the national compliance industry average.

“It’s fantastic to see our Moonee Valley venues leading the way in aquatic safety. Achieving the highest score in Victoria for the second year running shows our commitment to providing safe, high-quality programs and facilities for the community,” said Alex Watt, Venue Manager at Ascot Vale Leisure Centre.

Scott Vanderheyden, General Manager – Health and Safety at Belgravia Leisure, says it takes momentum, commitment and an ‘always on’ approach to maintain such high safety standards at a venue.

The AFSA is designed to provide swimming pool operators with a comprehensive overview of their safety standards. The assessment enables the development of a detailed report benchmarked against a range of industry, state and national standards, guidelines and legislative provisions.
